Mental health and mild learning disability rehabilitation unit

A recently refurbished, specialist mental health rehabilitation unit in Kilsby, Rugby, for people with a primary diagnosis of severe and enduring mental illness and complex needs aged between 18 and 65 and over.

The service intends to understand people’s expectations of their care and support. Having the separate units in the same building allows the service to identify service user’s needs and provide appropriate individual person-centred care ensuring that people are supported in the right place, with the right care and the right culture embedded in the service model.

Kilsby House has 21 en-suite bedrooms which are divided into 5 separate units with differing numbers of rooms, designed specifically for individual resident needs. Each unit has their own lounges and facilities to accommodate needs and manage service user groups.

Ground Floor Unit 1.
This consists of 4 ligature reduced bedrooms with en-suites.

Ground Floor Unit 2.
This consists of 6 en-suite standard bedrooms.

First Floor Unit 3.
This consists of 2 en-suite standard bedrooms.

First Floor Unit 4.
This consists of 2 en-suite standard bedrooms and 4 en-suite ligature reduced bedrooms.

Second Floor Unit 5.
This consists of 3 en-suite standard bedrooms.

Referral Criteria:

Our service will cater for people under Section 41 and Section 117 of the Mental Health Act

Multiple and complex needs
Mental illness diagnosis (including bipolar disorder and psychotic illness)
Personality disorder
Mild learning disability
Substance misuse

Admission Criteria:

Adult male or females aged from 18 years to 65 years.
People who are experiencing complex mental health and are stepping down in services, or utilising section 117 requirements either from acute, low secure and forensic services.
People who are willing to engage and may benefit from an extended period of residential rehabilitation to maintain safety and aid access to intensive therapy.
People with primary diagnosis of enduring mental health disorder. People requiring primary mental health needs support and treatment.
People who require supported living and aid access and progression into community services.
